Hello I am Shivani!
I am a graphic designer from Mumbai, India currently pursuing an MFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore MD.
Prior to studying design at MICA, I worked for over a year with Lokesh Karekar (founder/director - Locopopo Studio, Mumbai) and worked on projects primarily in the field of branding, identity design, publication design, illustration and typography.
I hold a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology too (yes!) and have worked as a public health researcher before pursuing design. It’s been a rollercoaster ride but it’s all been worth it! I try to integrate the two fields in my practice as much as I can and am currently working on a collaborative project with a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.
In my personal practice, I am deeply interested in typography, branding, lettering, 3D design, motion graphics and social design amongst a million other things. My work is grounded in minimalism, grid structures and gorgeous layouts.
